Rising Orion

An animated timelapse sequence of 76 individual 30-second exposures documenting the constellation Orion ascending directly behind a communications tower silhouetted against the night sky in Lovasberény, Hungary. Prominently featured as the Hunter climbs higher are Betelgeuse, Rigel, and the iconic three alignment stars of Orion's Belt (Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka), with the faint glow of the Orion Nebula (M42) trailing below them. Captured on high-speed Ilford Delta 3200 black-and-white film using a half-frame Yashica Half camera with a fast 32mm f/1.7 lens. The vertical format and raw film grain emphasize the dramatic upward movement of the stars.
